Common Questions
Will my knife rust in the sheath?
It can if it's left wet. Carbon steel isn't stainless, and that's the trade-off for an edge this sharp. Wash it by hand, dry it properly, and put it away dry in your sheath. Do that and you'll never have a problem.
Which sheath do I need?
Pick the one named after your knife. Each sheath is cut for that blade specifically, so an Ezekiel sheath fits Ezekiel, a Gabriel fits Gabriel, and so on down the range.
Will it fit a knife that isn't one of ours?
These are cut to our blade shapes, so another brand's knife will usually either rattle around inside or won't go in at all.
Can I store my knife in the sheath?
That's exactly what it's for. It keeps the edge covered and stops the blade knocking around against everything else in the drawer. Just make sure the knife is clean and dry before it goes in.
Is it bulky?
No. It's cut close to the blade rather than built like a work sheath, so it stays slim enough to sit in a drawer or on a bar without taking up much room.
Will the leather make my knife rust?
A dry blade in a sheath is fine. Moisture is what causes rust, so the habit worth building is drying the knife properly after washing rather than putting it away damp.
What leather is it?
Buffalo leather, cut and stitched for each knife in the range.
Why do some have a buckle?
Poseidon, Jonathan and Thomas have a brass buckle. The rest are buckle-free, which lets us cut them tighter for a cleaner fit.
Will it loosen over time?
Leather gives a little as you use it and moulds around your blade. It'll feel firm at the start, which is what you want.
How do I look after it?
Avoid getting it wet. Keep it out of direct sunlight. Make sure your blade is clean and dry before it goes back in. If the leather ever feels dry, work in a little leather balm with a cloth. Go easy, it takes less than you'd think.
Does it come with the knife?
Sheaths are sold separately and ship in their own packaging, so they won't arrive inside the knife box.
