Forged Carbon Steel
Every knife starts as a bar of high carbon steel, its roughly shaped then heated in a coal forge and shaped under a power hammer by hand. No CNC, no laser cutting. Each blade is forged individually.
Heat-Treated for Performance
Each blade is differentially heat-treated to bring out the best in the steel. The edge is hardened for sharpness and retention, while the spine stays softer so it flexes under pressure instead of snapping.
Handcrafted Handle
Each handle is carved from padauk wood and hand-planed until smooth, then sealed with shellac for daily kitchen use. Every grain is different. No two handles are the same.
Shaped & Sharpened by Hand
Every blade is hand-ground to form the edge, then refined on a whetstone for a polished, clean cut. Ready to use straight out of the box.
Sharp From The Start
Your knife arrives sharp and ready to use. Built for cooks who want tools they can trust, straight out of the box.

Common Questions
What Is Carbon Steel?
Carbon steel is a type of metal made mostly from iron and a small amount of carbon. That carbon makes the steel harder, which means it can be sharpened to a very fine edge and stay sharp for longer. It's not stainless, so it can rust if left wet. With simple care, it lasts a long time and cuts really well. That’s why carbon steel is often used in high-quality knives.
Santoku vs Chef's Knife? What's The Difference?
A Santoku is shorter with a flatter edge. Built for chopping and push-cutting. A chef's knife is longer with a curved belly, made for a rocking motion.
How Do I Care For It?
Hand wash, dry straight away, don't put it in the dishwasher. If you're not using it for a while, a light coat of oil keeps it happy. More Here
Where is it made?
Like all our knives, it's hand crafted in Vietnam by a skilled blacksmith. We documented the full process here.
What's The Dark Finish On The Blade?
It's forge scale and its called a kurouchi finish in traditional knife making. A natural layer that forms when the blade is heated during heat treatment. It's not a coating, it won't chip off, and it helps reduce food sticking to the blade.
What Type Of Wood Is The Handle?
Padauk. Padauk is a strong hardwood known for its rich colour and toughness. It has a natural reddish tone that darkens beautifully over time. Because it’s dense and durable, Padauk makes a great knife handle. It holds up to everyday use, feels solid in your hand, and looks better the more you use it. It’s a mix of strength, beauty, and comfort.
